Vietnamese Culture Night

Since 2012, Vietnamese Culture Night has been the most important annual event of Golden West College Vietnamese Student Association. Indeed, the club has been established to promote Vietnamese culture to our school as well as our community. We strongly believe that spreading Vietnamese culture to a large public will benefit anyone that is interested in Vietnamese tradition. That is the reason why we organize our annual culture night to touch as many people of all ethnicity as possible.

Our VSA VCN is always based on a play with different themes each year. The themes are usually related to the Vietnamese culture, but it can be extended to problems or difficulties that face students in general. In addition, mixing old and modern tradition is a way for us to represent Vietnamese culture: what makes us part of the Vietnamese community now and what our ancestors have built for us. Thus, our VCN includes an intense play, traditional and lion dance as well as modern dance.
